My role

My role on the team was both design and sound. I helped develop the main mechanics of the game while also creating the levels in the game. The main mechanic of the game was the enchant system. Instead of the projectiles, the player fires hurting enemies, it “enchants” them. Once an enemy is enchanted, the player can pick up the enemy and throw them, and the enemy will then explode when they hit the ground. On top of that, I was in charge of all audio that went into the build. All sound effects were created using royalty-free sound assets and edited to fit the purpose of the project.

What I worked on

The block-out of the main level was my own design, with it being polished by the artists as development continued. I created the entire tutorial for the game to introduce everything to the players. On top of that, I designed the mechanics of enchanting enemies to pick them up and throw them to cause them to explode. Finally, all the sound in the game was created by me.

How I felt about the project

This project is one I look very fondly on. It’s one of the first projects that I am really happy to show off as I am proud of the amount of work I got done in the project. I spent a lot of time in the build polishing everything which really allowed me to be really aware of all the changes being added by other members of my team. Plus it gave me the opportunity to work with things that were new to me, such as Unity’s HD Render Pipeline.
